The Ministry of Development has approved a new mechanism for the use of smart tachographs

The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine has approved a new mechanism for the use of smart tachographs. The corresponding order No 532 was registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. Deputy Minister Serhiy Derkach announced this on his Facebook page.

What does the new mechanism provide for?

• Approved samples of cards for smart tachographs.
• Possibility to apply online.
• The maintenance and installation of devices has been regulated.
• The procedures have been adapted to the Law on «Administrative Procedure».

In addition, it is no longer necessary to have a tachograph verification report on board the vehicle, which simplifies the work of the carrier and the driver.

«For a long time, Ukrainian carriers have been buying modern equipment with smart tachographs already built in, but it was impossible to service or obtain cards for them in Ukraine. We are gradually changing this», — said Sergiy Derkach.

The order comes into force on May 27 after its official publication. It will be possible to order cards for tachographs after the completion of technical procedures on the part of the EU, which will be announced later.
