Ministry of Development prepares changes to the procedure for organizing international bus transportation in the context of European integration

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine has published for discussion a draft order “On Amendments to the Procedure for Organizing Regular, Irregular, and Shuttle (Ferry) Passenger Transport by Road in International Traffic.”

The document was developed to provide an adequate legal basis for the organization of international bus transport in the context of Ukraine's gradual integration into the European transport space.

Briefly about the main provisions of the draft:

• Implementation of the provisions of the Protocol to the INTERBUS Agreement;
• Strengthening requirements for carriers (technical standards defined by INTERBUS, installation of GPS trackers, prohibition of the use of converted or obsolete buses, etc.);
• Improvement of the procedure for opening international routes;
• Expansion of the grounds for refusing to open a route;
• Regulation of issues related to changes and renewal of permits;
• Improvement of the mechanism for closing routes.
