The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the Action Program for 2025. What about passenger bus transportation?
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the Action Program for 2025. The document outlines 12 priorities relating to various areas of Ukraine's development. Among them is the reform of passenger transport by road, according to the Center for Transport Strategies (CTS).
The Program provides for the following:
— Introduction of a digital tool for submitting documents to create transparent conditions for participation in the competition to select a road transport operator.
By November, it is planned to develop an electronic office for conducting a competition to select a road transport operator on public bus routes and to verify all regular bus routes.
— eCherha. By the end of the year, it is planned to install video cameras at three border crossing points for automatic verification in the system.
— Introduction of European standards for road transport safety. A series of measures are expected to be taken to scale up smart tachographs in Ukraine, including obtaining an electronic digital key from the EU for the state-owned enterprise DerzhavtotransNDIproekt to issue tachograph cards and designate tachograph service points for their installation and calibration.
— Adoption of the Law on the National Bureau for Investigation of Transport Accidents (No 13674). The creation of such a bureau will allow for the introduction of the principle of objectivity and impartiality during the conduct of relevant investigations.
